About The Position

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization of engineers, product developers, designers, technologists, and data scientists working to build and advance the technological backbone for Disney’s media business globally. Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney’s linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney’s media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams. This role is on the Frontend Web and Experience team and will be primarily responsible for building out various tools to empower workflows and reporting on the digital supply chain. We are growing and investing in innovative technology to deliver a state-of-the-art content pipeline. Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in web development or software engineering
• Mastery of HTTP server and proxy technologies such as HA Proxy, NGINX, Apache
• Extensive experience with NodeJS, and/or Java/Kotlin programming
• Extensive experience with cloud native technologies such as AWS EC2, Fargate, and Cloudfront
• Experience with frontend web development technologies and principles
• Experience with task automation
• Ability to research, learn, assess, and evangelize new technologies
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Driven and self-motivated
• BS Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Previous work experience in media distribution
• Experience building AI driven software
• Experience working with vendor teams to deliver high quality results
• Knowledge of performance testing and application profiling
• Experience with React Native

Responsibilities

• Creating and maintaining shared JavaScript libraries and UI components.
• Implementing business logic of various tool workflows.
• Reviewing others JavaScript and TypeScript code.
• Acting as a tech leader for various projects and initiatives.
• Employ test driven development and agile development practices.
