About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer (Backend Focus) to join our growing development team in Huntington Beach, California. In this role, you will architect and build scalable, distributed backend services using Microsoft technologies, while working closely with cross-functional teams across product, QA, and frontend engineering. Our platform uses C#, ASP.NET, React, MSSQL, Redis, Azure, VB. We embrace AI-assisted development as a core part of our engineering culture and expect engineers to leverage these tools to ship faster and smarter.

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience working with .NET and C# (experience with ASP.NET, VB.NET, and C# preferred)
Strong Computer Science fundamentals with expertise in architecture, object-oriented programming and system design.
Experience building cloud-based, distributed, resilient systems with the ability to handle large and variable traffic volumes.
Strong understanding of database design and development with SQL Server; experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and a demonstrated ability to use them effectively. (We use Cursor, Claude code)
Experience with CI/CD: Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins.
Working knowledge of Docker and cloud platforms Azure (preferred) or AWS.

Nice To Haves

BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience working on the front-end using React, Typescript.
Familiarity with prompt engineering and building AI-native products.
Experience working in Mortgage, Private Lending, Fintech industry.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to have fun in a small-team environment.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and develop scalable, resilient backend services for high-performing web applications that support complex business workflows.
Ensure software quality and system performance by contributing to architectural decisions, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.
Partner with the Product team to translate customer requirements into solutions that create real impact for borrowers, customers, and internal users.
Collaborate with QA to ensure comprehensive test coverage and assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
Leverage AI coding tools like Cursor, Claude and Copilot to accelerate development, generate boilerplate and improve overall code quality and delivery speed.
