About The Position

Our Connected Aviation – Air Traffic Solutions - Software Engineering Department (ATS-SED) is looking for a talented experienced Software Engineer to join our team developing and supporting our Air Traffic Control Systems worldwide. We develop safety-of-life air traffic management systems for mulit-national customers used for controlling and monitoring civil and military aviation traffic. This is an opportunity to learn new COTS tools, processes, and methodologies as you focus on improving your skills to support, design, develop, integrate, and test operational software components throughout the SW development life-cycle.

Requirements

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience developing, integrating, testing and validating software components in an Unix/Linux environment
  • Experience with the complete software development lifecycle using C/C++
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and Python
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and GIT
  • Experience in software testing or debugging source code
  • Experience with containerization technologies ( ex. Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software packaged into our ATMS products
  • Maintain documentation and work instructions needed to meet ATS SED’s high maturity level software engineering standards and processes.
  • Participate in the agile process including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, back log grooming and story pointing.
  • Work with an integrated engineering team in a highly collaborative environment, requiring frequent multi-level communication with engineering team members, program management and external stakeholders.
