About The Position

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop, integrate, and support enterprise software solutions that address complex customer requirements. This role requires a seasoned engineer capable of working independently to design secure, scalable applications, implement custom integrations, and support software deployments across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate combines strong Java development expertise with a consultative mindset and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions that solve real-world business challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of software development experience utilizing Java and JavaScript in enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of modern software engineering practices, software testing methodologies, and Agile development frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and effectively engage with customers and technical teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
  • This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing secure applications involving encryption technologies, cryptographic services, or key management capabilities.
  • Experience designing and implementing REST APIs, Spring-based applications, and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
  • Familiarity with AWS, cloud platforms, containerization technologies, and Kubernetes environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate across diverse teams, and deliver high-quality software in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, JavaScript, and modern software development frameworks.
  • Develop custom software solutions, integrations, and extensions to support customer-specific business processes and operational workflows.
  • Implement and maintain RESTful APIs, service integrations, and distributed application components.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to translate functional requirements into effective software solutions.
  • Apply Agile development principles and modern testing practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, defect resolution, and production deployments.
  • Troubleshoot application, performance, and integration issues while identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
  • Support deployments and operations across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
  • Develop technical documentation, implementation procedures, and software design artifacts.
  • Identify project risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and contribute to successful project execution.
