Senior Software Engineer (C++ / VxWorks)
About The Position
This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in C++ and VxWorks. The role involves designing, writing, and maintaining efficient C++ code for safety-critical missile and weapon system applications. The engineer will develop and support applications running on VxWorks real-time operating systems (RTOS), perform hardware-software integration for missile simulators and test equipment, and lead verification and validation (V&V) activities. The position requires working within multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure compliance with stringent defense and safety requirements, and maintaining rigorous technical documentation and software development artifacts throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive software development experience using C++ and VxWorks RTOS.
- Understanding of real-time embedded principles, SMP (Symmetric Multi-Processing), and multi-core architectures.
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is mandatory.
- U.S. Citizenship is strictly required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) or Anti-Air Warfare (AAW) systems.
- Familiarity with missile flight test programs, telemetry formats, and weapon system test equipment.
- Previous experience in Defense, Aerospace, or Naval systems programs.
