About The Position

Own product surfaces end to end across Orbis’s AI portfolio, including the Agent Catalog, OSINT Agent Harness, and Pulse Analytics. Build across data models, service logic, APIs, and the interfaces analysts use. The role focuses on products where AI capability meets real users, including streaming agent output, evolving knowledge structures, and explainable results that users can verify and act on. Travel up to 15% for customer engagement, integration support, and team collaboration.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional full-stack engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of production product surfaces.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills across server and browser runtimes, or a strong Python back end paired with real front-end skills.
  • Production experience with a modern front-end framework, preferably React, including component architecture, state management, and rendering performance.
  • Working knowledge of API design, including versioning, error contracts, authentication, and authorization.
  • Hands-on experience with real-time client-server patterns such as WebSockets, server-sent events, or streaming HTTP.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience presenting complex, interrelated data such as entities, relationships, graphs, timelines, or cited documents.
  • Familiarity with LLM application patterns, including streaming responses, retrieval, tool calling, and structured output.
  • Experience with graph databases or knowledge representation, and querying them at interactive latency.
  • Experience building SDKs or developer-facing libraries for other engineers.
  • Experience packaging and deploying to on-premises, disconnected, or edge environments, such as Docker, Kubernetes, or offline installation.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (Section 508 / WCAG) in a government or enterprise context.
  • Prior experience in a mission, government, or regulated environment where operational reliability is foundational.

Responsibilities

  • Design and ship end-to-end features across data models, service logic, APIs, and user-facing interfaces.
  • Build and own real-time product surfaces, including streaming agent output, live task status, and progressive rendering of long-running analysis.
  • Surface sources, provenance, and reasoning paths so users can evaluate results.
  • Build interfaces for dynamic ontologies and knowledge structures that remain navigable as their underlying representations evolve.
  • Ensure service contracts provide dependable versioning, backward compatibility, and failure semantics for consuming teams.
  • Set quality standards for owned product surfaces, including test coverage, accessibility, and front-end performance budgets.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews and planning for owned subsystems.
  • Travel up to 15% for customer engagement, integration support, and team collaboration.

Benefits

  • Competitive retirement matching.
  • PTO policy that encourages real time off.
  • Comprehensive benefits package; full details are shared with candidates following an initial HR conversation.
