About The Position

We are the Unity Authoring Platform team, an innovative team building the world's best-managed RT3D collaboration platform! Our Automation team focuses on the tools and orchestration that power fully customizable workflows, from Unity project creation to complex asset transformations, to give creators the flexibility to build and scale their cloud-based pipelines. The person hired for this role is a Senior Software Developer who is ready to help us scale our customer-facing automation platforms globally, such as Unity Build Automation and Unity Pipeline Automation. This person will actively mentor other members of their team and will be hands-on in building technical solutions to simplify RT3D automation for our users—the largest game development community in the world. They will work to deliver a high-performing, reliable platform at scale for our users. The ideal person has extensive experience designing, building, and deploying production applications, as well as experience operating and maintaining online products. They are comfortable working in a team to innovate and deliver high-quality solutions for highly complex systems. In this role, you will learn all the nuances of RT3D CI/CD and orchestration, as well as the specific technical challenges we solve for our customers, and make a significant contribution with your unique perspective.

Requirements

  • Experience with one or more of the main programming languages we use as Node.js, C#, Ruby or Python
  • The ability to quickly become comfortable with large and complex systems
  • A deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and orchestration systems
  • Experience working within a globally distributed team - collaboration and teamwork is important to us
  • Sufficient knowledge of English to have professional verbal and written exchanges in this language

Nice To Haves

  • Significant experience in tooling or build engineering for the RT3D or gaming industry
  • Solid understanding of the Unity Engine
  • Experience running a production service or product
  • Experience with other tooling we use as Jenkins, ArgoCD, and containerization

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering leadership and senior developers to provide technical design and architecture for CI/CD, automation and orchestration technology specifically for RT3D applications
  • Develop flexible and customizable workflow features that allow creators to tailor automation to their specific project needs
  • Drive continuous improvement within a high-trust, collaborative Agile environment, contributing to technical design docs and peer reviews to maintain high engineering standards
  • Architect and evolve the core systems that powers our Automation solutions, as command-line tools, microservices, and tools for integrating with RT3D engines and asset transformation SDKs
  • Lead projects and initiatives, while mentoring other developers to grow our engineering team
