About The Position

Keyfactor is looking for a highly capable and motivated Senior (Java) Software Engineer to join one of our agile teams. Your primary focus, together with the team is to support the continued growth of our flagship PKI Product offering. You have demonstrable experience in developing professional Java-based systems and have probably had a core engineering role in a product business. While an experience or an interest in this PKI, is meriting, it is more important for us to find someone who is passionate and capable, with the right mindset to be a part of helping us scale and become increasingly self-organizing. The position can based in our Stockholm or Toronto office, we follow a hybrid work model with excellent flexible working practices. Applicants must hold a valid Right to Work in Sweden or Canada.

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of Java software development and architecture.
  • Strong experience of Java Enterprise (Jakarta EE).
  • Deep knowledge of databases/SQL.
  • Good knowledge of Linux.
  • Knowledge of web application server and container deployment.
  • Good knowledge of RESTful API.
  • Extensive knowledge of software development in Agile environments.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing secure software.
  • Good knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and the system development life cycle.
  • Strategic thinking, exceptional problem-solving abilities, high-level proficiency in relevant tools and technologies.
  • Proficiency in design patterns, strong architectural skills, and advanced debugging abilities.
  • Ability to lead complex projects, drive strategic initiatives, and influence decision-making.
  • Ability to take ownership of complex tasks, mentor team members, and drive technical improvements.
  • Deep knowledge of software architecture principles, code optimization, and continuous integration practices.
  • Ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence technical decision-making.
  • Strong sense of ownership, with the ability to drive complex tasks to completion.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and driving continuous technical improvement.
  • Open-minded, adaptable team player who actively contributes to collaboration and knowledge sharing.

  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate clearly in a professional environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong demonstrable experience in software engineering or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or knowledge in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is considered a strong advantage, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain software features and functionality.
  • Conduct code reviews, pull requests and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  • Work closely with other engineers and cross-functional teams to solve complex problems.
  • Contribute to the improvement of software development processes and practices.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced engineers.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance teams and participate in QA efforts when needed.
  • Participate in internal and external product support when needed.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and project reports.
  • Engage in Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative development processes.
