About The Position

Raytheon’s Air & Space Defense Systems strategic business unit specializes in multi-domain integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, hypersonics, effectors, and cyber solutions. Its Space Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance sub-business unit delivers information superiority from space, multi-mission automation and orchestration, multiple intelligence, resilient operations, secure processing, and data management. The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software for a cutting-edge satellite ground system, working with teams of engineers, architects, and leaders. The role is onsite in Aurora, Colorado. The engineer will also learn modern DevSecOps and continuous integration/continuous delivery techniques and software lifecycle practices for defense projects. The position requires U.S. citizenship and an active, existing Top Secret security clearance after the first day. Relocation assistance is available. The stated salary range is $86,800–$165,200 USD.

Requirements

Typically requires a STEM degree and 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
Experience developing object-oriented software using Java.
Experience programming with Python and JavaScript.
Experience with Agile/Scrum development processes.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Top Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
An active and existing security clearance is required after day one.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SAFe Agile development.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD processes.
Experience with tools such as Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, JUnit, and Kafka.
