Senior Software Engineer, Reporting

JustPark•Dallas, TX

About The Position

Join the Reporting team at JustPark as a Senior Software Engineer. You'll build, ship and maintain the data platform and reporting products behind our venue operations, used at venues like Mercedes Benz Stadium, The Greek Theatre and The O2 Arena. Following the 2024 merger of ParkHub and JustPark, we're scaling internationally, which means distributed systems, distributed teams, and interesting problems at the intersection of payments, data and real time event operations. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll own meaningful pieces of our platform from design through production, including keeping them healthy on live event days. We're an AI native engineering team: engineers use Claude Code, Copilot and Cursor as daily tools for code generation, review, debugging and documentation, and we build MCP integrations that connect our AI tools directly to Jira, Confluence, Slack and internal APIs so engineers stay in flow. You'll work closely with Product, QA, and our UK engineering and data teams to shape the data strategy of a fast growing international company.

Requirements

  • US based, ideally within commuting distance of Dallas Fort Worth
  • Bachelor's in CS/SE or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional backend engineering, with strong recent experience in Go
  • Deep SQL and data modeling skills; you've designed schemas for analytics and reporting workloads, not just CRUD, and you're comfortable operating production databases including locking, connection behavior, query performance and safe zero downtime migrations
  • Experience working with large datasets and a strong understanding of OLAP/OLTP paradigms and when to use each
  • Experience building event driven or streaming data systems, including durable messaging, change data capture, delivery guarantees, replayability and the failure modes that come with them
  • Experience working with payment processor systems and financial data (ingestion and reconciliation)
  • Hands on data warehouse experience (BigQuery or similar) and warehouse transformation tooling (dbt or similar)
  • Deep experience with AWS (EKS, Kinesis, RDS, S3, IAM) and BigQuery on GCP
  • GraphQL and API design experience for data heavy products, including access control for client facing data
  • Kubernetes experience (EKS/GKE) and proficiency with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)
  • Solid testing practices across unit, integration and end to end
  • Comfortable working with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor and similar); we expect engineers to leverage these daily as core workflow, not as a novelty
  • Clear communication skills, especially async (PRs, design docs, Slack)
  • The ability to own problems end to end, taking them from ambiguous ask to shipped design, while working in concert with other senior engineers and our principal engineers to meet team objectives

Nice To Haves

  • Schema and data contract tooling and typed event design (Protobuf or similar)
  • Experience building MCP servers or AI augmented internal tooling
  • Multilingual engineers (TypeScript/Node or others) alongside Go
  • A quantitative streak around data quality monitoring, statistical thinking or anomaly detection
  • Parking, mobility, ticketing or live events sector experience

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and ship backend services and streaming data pipelines in Go that handle real world scale
  • Own data end to end: event schema and contract design, durable messaging patterns, and the read models and warehouse tables analytics is served from
  • Build financial data flows, including payment processor ingestion, fee reconciliation and ledger backed reporting
  • Ingest and reconcile third party data (partner files and payment processor APIs) with idempotent, replayable backfills
  • Develop and evolve API and GraphQL serving layers that power our internal and external products
  • Migrate existing reporting paths onto the new architecture
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and developer tooling
  • Collaborate across time zones with Product, QA, and our UK engineering and data teams on shared data models
  • Use AI assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor and similar) as a natural part of your workflow, writing code, reviewing PRs, debugging, generating tests and accelerating delivery
  • Own features vertically: backend first, but able to follow a feature into our React frontends with AI assistance when the work calls for it
  • Mentor more junior developers on the team
