About The Position

Nuro is seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join the Fleet Connectivity team, focusing on building and maintaining release and over-the-air (OTA) update infrastructure for their autonomous robots. This role is critical for ensuring the reliable and scalable updating of a fleet of self-driving robots, minimizing downtime, and guaranteeing software integrity. The team works across cloud and robot technology stacks to build robust systems for network connectivity, telemetry, and software updates, which are essential for Nuro's AV vision.

Requirements

5+ years of industrial experience with large-scale distributed systems that support workflow automation.
Strong proficiency in C++ or Go.
Professional experience in Unix/Linux environments and Bash scripting.
Ability to turn high-level requirements into a detailed, cohesive system design.
Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design optimized for large-scale distributed systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of SQL
Experience working with GCP
UI experience
Prior experience with OTA updates and execution frameworks like Temporal.
Python programming experience

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software for mission-critical systems like release infrastructure and OTA updates.
Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, both internally and cross-team.
Write well-designed, testable code that aligns with code quality standards.
Track and improve the performance of release systems, defining and tracking KPIs, and proposing and implementing optimizations to improve cost, time, and space of builds.
Develop test and validation programs to ensure the robustness of system architecture and data flows.
Improve documentation and participate in on-call rotation during business hours.
