Software engineers are responsible for the complete life cycle of a new or modified software product, from research and design to implementation, training and support. This role involves designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications that support internal business requirements or external customers. The engineer will also support and/or install software applications, potentially including end-user training and documentation. Key responsibilities include documenting and maintaining software functionality, including break/fix and continual improvement, and participating in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software. The role requires executing full life-cycle software development, writing well-designed, testable, efficient code for complex solutions, and updating job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools and programming techniques. Additionally, the position involves participating in outside educational opportunities, mentoring Level I and II associates, facilitating associate onboarding, and reviewing other team members' code to ensure adherence to standards. The Senior Software Engineer works under limited supervision, relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and is recognized by peers as a disproportionate contributor. They may provide consultation on projects and are considered a subject matter expert on technology. The role also includes involvement in Level II on-call support.
