About The Position

D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Sr Software Engineer - Mobile. The right candidate is an experienced individual contributor who operates with high autonomy and serves as a technical anchor for mobile development within the team. This role combines deep expertise in React Native and mobile architecture with the ability to drive cross-platform initiatives, ensuring high-quality delivery across iOS, Android, and shared web ecosystems.

Requirements

Expertise in mobile application architecture, including navigation, deep linking, state management, and offline storage strategies
3 years direct React Native experience required
Skilled balancing pragmatism with technical excellence, making appropriate trade-offs
Familiarity with mobile analytics, monitoring, and observability tools
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form or via DRH applications
Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision

Experience with Expo ecosystem (EAS, Expo Router, OTA updates) preferred

Responsibilities

Designs and implements complex features and systems with minimal guidance using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript
Demonstrates expertise in mobile application architecture, including navigation, deep linking, state management, and offline storage strategies.
Leverages modern tooling such as Expo, EAS, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development, testing, and deployment.
Make sound architectural decisions for team-level projects, considering scalability, maintainability, and performance.
Leverage modern tools to streamline development, testing, and deployment
Provide expert guidance in code reviews, ensuring high standards across the team
Debug and resolve complex production issues efficiently
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, technical debt, and production issues in mobile environments
Write comprehensive design documents that enable informed decision-making
Collaborate effectively with web, backend, product, and marketing teams to align mobile capabilities with broader platform goals
Mentor engineers in React Native development, mobile architecture, and cross-platform best practices
Identify and advocate for important technical investments and improvements
Establish and advocate for engineering standards across mobile development, including testing, performance, and code quality
Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
Ability to travel overnight
