About The Position

The position involves delivering highly complex solutions with significant system linkages, dependencies, and associated risk. The role includes leading and performing development efforts such as analysis, design, coding/creating, and testing. This role implements software architecture and engineering approaches for complex initiatives, contributing to technical plans and operational targets. It involves adopting and refining advanced software engineering standards to improve quality, reliability, and delivery across multiple teams. The position requires collaboration with senior engineers, product partners, and architecture teammates to shape technology approaches, providing deep technical insight and proposing solution patterns. The engineer will lead the end-to-end technical design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available software solutions, producing patterns for others to follow. Responsibilities include independently troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, designing innovative architectures, and making performance, reliability, and scalability improvements. The role also involves providing technical guidance, coaching, and training to other engineers, delegating and reviewing work, and raising the technical bar through design reviews and knowledge sharing. Evaluation of emerging technologies, building prototypes, and contributing to long-term technical goals are also key aspects. The engineer will lead large or complex initiatives, coordinating and delegating technical work, ensuring high-quality outcomes with limited supervision.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development.
Deep knowledge of multiple programming languages, software architecture, and design principles.
Deep understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and security practices.
English (Required) fluency.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree and ten+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience with people management including performance reviews, coaching and payroll responsibility.
Experience with Java/J2EE/JEE, Spring, Springboot, SQL, OpenShift, web services and microservices
Banking or financial services experience.
Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills
Professional experience building high-quality apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level
Strong understanding of SOA and/or Open API methodologies and service architecture
Experience with NoSQL databases, including design, development, performance optimization, and implementation.
Hands-on experience with AWS services, relevant certifications, and a strong understanding of cloud computing principles.
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including event-driven architecture, real-time data streaming, message processing, performance tuning, and distributed systems design.

Provides ongoing technical guidance, coaching, and training to other engineers, delegating and reviewing work from lower-level technical professionals and raising the technical bar through design reviews and knowledge sharing.
Evaluates emerging technologies and techniques relevant to the job area, building prototypes and solution concepts that contribute measurable input into new features, products, or capabilities.
Contributes to the development of long-term technical goals and plans for the area of responsibility through well-reasoned recommendations, design proposals, and implementation experience.
Leads large or complex initiatives within the job area, coordinating and delegating technical work that may span outside the immediate team, and ensuring cohesive, high-quality outcomes with limited supervision.
