This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, which is the ability to work from home, while also requiring to be in person as needed at our Lakeside and/or Clayton Corporate HQ campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri. Requirements

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must reside in St. Louis, Missouri, or immediate surrounding area
  • Must have 3 or more years of experience supporting enterprise Java applications in production environments, especially RESTful web services applications using frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot.
  • Must have knowledge of source control methodologies and experience using Git-based source control (e.g. Bitbucket) and participating in peer code reviews.
  • Must have knowledge of API design best practices and experience with API testing tools such as Postman and SoapUI.
  • Must have experience troubleshooting APIs, application integrations, and distributed system interactions across multiple platforms.
  • Must have experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and supporting technology changes across multiple platforms.
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
  • Must have strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with and communicate technical information to various IT teams, business partners, and vendors.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also independently managing priorities and responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • As an IT Engineer 2, you will leverage your technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and understanding of enterprise application environments to support complex technology solutions across the CarShare portfolio.
  • You will partner with application teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of critical booking and mobility services.
  • In this role, you will serve as a technical subject matter expert responsible for supporting production operations, troubleshooting complex issues, managing system dependencies, and identifying opportunities to improve platform reliability, monitoring, automation, and support processes.
  • Collaborate with product, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams to deliver enhancements and new features, support maintenance activities, and perform technology upgrades.
  • Monitor and support the health, performance, and availability of CarShare applications, Global Booking Orchestration services, and supporting technology platforms.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call support schedule (typically every 6 weeks) to provide after-hours support for production incidents, service disruptions, and critical business-impacting issues, ensuring timely response and resolution.
  • Lead production support and operational readiness efforts by coordinating incident resolution, supporting releases and deployments, and driving root-cause analysis and preventative solutions that improve platform stability and customer experience.
  • Support integrations between booking platforms, vehicle systems, external vendors, and downstream services.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including system dependencies, operational procedures, support documentation, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Monitor system alerts, performance trends, and operational risks to proactively identify issues, drive resolution, and improve platform stability, scalability, supportability, and overall operational health through enhanced monitoring, automation, and process improvements.
