Requirements

At least 8 years of professional hands-on software development experience, including system design, software architecture, and enterprise application development.
Strong proficiency in Java, including experience building scalable backend services and enterprise applications.
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and driving technical initiatives across engineering teams.
Experience with messaging and event-driven technologies such as Kafka and Amazon SQS.
Experience with cloud platforms; AWS is preferred.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI/CD and Terraform.
Strong knowledge of automated testing methodologies, including unit, integration, regression, and load testing.
Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
Experience with application monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as New Relic and Splunk.
Ability to analyze complex technical requirements, design scalable solutions, and troubleshoot production issues.
Experience in Agile environments, including sprint planning, daily standups, Jira management, and stakeholder collaboration.
Excellent spoken and written English communication skills, including the ability to lead technical discussions, guide engineering teams, and communicate with stakeholders.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and ownership of technical deliverables.
B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or comparable professional experience.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of scalable, reliable, high-performance enterprise software applications.
Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers on technical challenges, system design decisions, and problem-solving.
Manage daily standups, Jira tasks, sprint updates, and technical discussions to support project alignment and delivery timelines.
Collaborate with stakeholders, product teams, and cross-functional engineering teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Design and implement backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
Drive architectural decisions and contribute to system design for scalability, maintainability, reliability, and performance.
Develop and maintain event-driven and distributed systems using technologies such as Kafka and Amazon SQS.
Participate in the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based solutions, preferably using AWS.
Support DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud deployment processes.
Design and implement automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, regression, and load testing.
Work with relational and non-relational databases, focusing on data modeling, performance, and data integrity.
Identify and resolve complex technical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and lead cross-functional troubleshooting.
Implement and maintain application logging, monitoring, and observability solutions using tools such as New Relic and Splunk.
Participate in on-call support during working hours to support application reliability and timely incident resolution.
Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices and high standards for code quality, security, testing, and automation.
Collaborate with distributed engineering teams while demonstrating ownership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
