About The Position

Skywise, a wholly owned subsidiary of Airbus, is a leading digital services company focused on transforming operational complexity into predictable and profitable performance through integrated digital solutions for end-to-end operations. The company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Intelligent Automation & AI Orchestration to join their team and accelerate the evolution of their Software Factory. This role acts as a bridge between traditional full-stack engineering and AI-assisted development, leveraging expertise in frontend and backend architectures to automate pipelines, integrate AI coding agents, and establish intelligent merge criteria within a cloud-native, microservices-based environment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software development experience, with a proven track record in both Front End (Vue.js, TypeScript) and Back End (.NET / C#) environments.
  • Practical experience working with LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) and knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen).
  • A strong conceptual understanding of how to build tools that allow AI agents to interact with existing APIs and codebases.
  • Deep expertise in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and containerization (Docker).
  • Proven ability to build custom automation, hooks, and scripts to govern code integration.
  • Experience with CloudFormation IaC or similar.
  • Highly analytical problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to choose between traditional programmatic solutions and AI-driven approaches based on efficiency, cost, and reliability.
  • Hands-on experience with ASP.NET Web API, Entity Framework, and maintaining both microservices and monolithic architectures within AWS (or other major cloud providers).
  • Experience in building SPA and Micro-frontend solutions from the ground up, using modern HTML/CSS (SASS).
  • Strong commitment to software reliability.
  • Experience orchestrating automated Unit, Component, and Functional testing within deployment pipelines.
  • Strong technical communication skills in English (written and spoken), with the ability to demystify complex AI concepts for various audiences.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong proficiency in Python, combined with an understanding of vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.
  • Deep expertise in automated functional tests and non-functional testing methodologies. ISTQB certification or demonstrable knowledge of ISTQB best practices.
  • Understanding of airline operations, flight planning, or air navigation principles. A genuine passion for the aviation industry is a huge plus!
  • Practical knowledge of agile development concepts and experience working within the SAFe process.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain advanced CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement automated Merge Request (MR) checks that leverage both deterministic logic and AI agents to enforce code quality, security, and architectural standards.
  • Evaluate and determine the right tool for the job—knowing exactly when to use simple scripts or algorithms versus when to build agentic workflows and leverage LLMs.
  • Lead the integration of AI coding assistants and generative AI tools into the team's daily development lifecycle, streamlining workflows and boosting productivity.
  • Utilize deep .NET (C#) and modern UI (Vue.js) expertise to extend existing infrastructures, ensuring AI and automation solutions integrate seamlessly with robust backend logic and intuitive UIs.
  • Act as a domain expert for AI and automation, supervising and guiding team members on prompt engineering, working with AI agents, and transitioning toward an AI-augmented development mindset.
  • Propose and lead 'chapter' initiatives to achieve business goals and identify bottlenecks in the Software Factory, architecting intelligent solutions to eliminate them.
  • Actively participate in the SAFe process, guiding others in agile development concepts and leading the adoption of continual improvement.
