About The Position

Ruxlo is building a profile page for every one of America's 150M+ properties, creating a durable record of work done on a house, confirmed by the owner, that stays with the property when it sells. This is akin to CARFAX for homes, built on a public-record foundation with crowdsourced layers of verified contractor work history, deal documents, and neighborhood connections. The company is early-stage, backed by an experienced SaaS founder, and offers a unique opportunity to define a category at the intersection of AI, data, and the real estate market. The product relies on data flowing through it, and while a data platform exists, the role of a dedicated integrations engineer is to expand the breadth of data sources aggregated and make two-way data flow a core part of the product's development. This role requires a software engineer with an integrations mindset, comfortable with various data sources, and capable of building resilient, reusable connectors. It also involves partner-facing responsibilities, managing third-party relationships end-to-end, negotiating access, and working through data-sharing terms. The engineer will set integration patterns, two-way sync conventions, data contracts, and partner relationships that the rest of the engineering team will adopt.

Requirements

Data Aggregation Expertise: Lived experience aggregating messy, fragmented data into a single system, particularly real estate data from public records, permits, MLS feeds, county sites, contractor and agent tools.
Strong track record of ingesting from many disparate, low-quality sources and reconciling them into one trustworthy model (matching, deduping, normalizing, conflict resolution).
Comfortable getting data when there's no clean API: web scraping, crawling, parsing HTML/PDF/scanned documents, headless browsers, handling anti-bot measures, pagination, and rate limits.
Deep, hands-on experience building two-way integrations (REST/GraphQL, webhooks, batch/streaming, OAuth).
Fluency with sync and aggregation fundamentals: idempotency, retries, rate limiting, pagination, incremental sync, entity resolution, and reconciliation.
Experience building and feeding the front door of a data pipeline, plugging into existing orchestration and ingestion stacks (workflow schedulers, layered/ELT-style pipelines).
An 'integrations as code' philosophy: connectors, schemas, and contracts in version control, code-reviewed, built for maintainability and observability.
Partner-Facing & Relationship Management: Comfortable owning external relationships and being the human on the other end.
Proven ability to manage third-party relationships end-to-end: sourcing and reaching out to data providers, negotiating and maintaining access, navigating data-sharing agreements.
Comfortable interacting with stakeholders like towns, municipalities, contractors, service providers, agents, and platform partners.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5+ years as a software engineer with a backend/fullstack mindset.
Strong coding ability in at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript, C#/.NET, or Python, and productive in the others.
Experience building and operating production integrations against third-party and internal APIs.
Able to own an area end-to-end with limited guidance and establish patterns from scratch.
AI-native by default: use AI tools to multiply output and verify their results.

Nice To Haves

Founding-team or early-stage experience building an integrations or data-ingestion function from zero on a lean team.
Direct experience integrating with QuickBooks or other accounting systems, dispatching/field-service software, or CRM platforms.
Proptech, real estate, fintech, or geospatial data experience (public records, permits, MLS, contractor/service networks).
Data / ETL / pipeline engineering and data-quality validation.
Experience with iPaaS or connector frameworks, or building a custom integration platform.
Message queues, event-driven architecture, and change-data-capture (CDC).
Contract testing, observability, and using production signals to catch sync drift early.
SaaS data-product or multi-tenant integration experience.

Responsibilities

Expand what we aggregate by establishing two-way integrations and standing up connectors for new sources, prioritizing those that matter.
Integrate data for everything tied to a property, including permits, contractors, services, agents, and public/private records, normalizing inconsistent sources into a coherent model.
Build two-way integrations with accounting systems like QuickBooks, dispatching software, and third-party platforms used by users and partners.
Own sync as code, including ingestion, outbound writes, webhooks, retries, idempotency, and reconciliation to ensure data consistency across systems.
Define data models, schemas, and API contracts to maintain integration stability as sources change, versioning them like production code.
Automate and monitor integrations to ensure health and focus on data quality and coverage strategy, leveraging AI-assisted tooling.
Partner with towns, municipalities, contractors, service providers, agents, and platform partners to gain access, understand systems, and maintain integrations.
Make build-vs-buy-vs-partner decisions and establish connectors and patterns that become the team's default.
