About The Position
As Optro continues to scale its enterprise ecosystem, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join our Web Frameworks team. You will have an opportunity to rethink how our frontend communicates with backend services — ensuring data flows reliably and efficiently at scale. Your work will directly improve the functionality, security, and responsiveness of the platform, and will unlock new capabilities for our largest customers. Requirements
- Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks (Ember.js is a significant plus, but we value strong experience in React or Vue as well).
- A strong understanding of modern API standards (e.g., JSON:API), pagination strategies, and complex query builders.
- You've contributed meaningfully to large refactors or migrations, and you understand the patience, coordination, and attention to detail that kind of work requires.
- Exceptional ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and drive consensus across disparate teams.
- You're the kind of person who wants to understand why something works the way it does, not just how to use it. You dig into problems, ask good questions, and aren't satisfied with surface-level answers.
Responsibilities
- Work with a team to design solutions and execute on cross-team initiatives to modernize complex UI components and leverage high-performance paginated query APIs.
- Partner closely with Platform, Architecture, and Product teams to align on migration roadmaps and technical execution. Stay aware of what's happening across the engineering organization. Understand how your work connects to and affects other teams, and factor that into your approach.
- Become a subject matter expert on frontend API access patterns; participate in deep-dive code reviews and provide constructive feedback for continuously improving our API endpoints and frontend integration.
- Scale your impact by mentoring engineers, documenting best practices, and helping to define agentic coding standards to streamline frontend modernization while maintaining code quality and stability.
- Proactively identify technical debt and migration risks, providing accurate estimations and clear communication to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
