About The Position

SSCI Solutions Division is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to support software development and test its AI-powered, autonomy software. The successful applicant will be responsible for working with a team to develop software for advanced robotics programs relating to autonomous flight systems and swarm collaboration. The position will also be responsible for building simulation environments for demonstration and testing of autonomous software. This role may require periodic travel. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DOD Security Clearance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Software Engineering, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physical Science, Operations Research, or Data Science.
5+ years of experience with modern C++, CMake, Git and software practices including dockerized development, CI/CD workflows.
Experience in software development of autonomy and AI for Robotics, Machine Learning, Robot Planning/Optimization Techniques, and/or Autonomous Uncrewed Systems Software
Experience with Linux-based development environments and embedded platforms such as the Nvidia Jetson
Experience with modern software development tool chains and processes (Agile, /Gitlab/Github, Confluence/Jira, , , and automated test methodologies, etc.)
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DOD Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

Must be able to effectively communicate orally and possess technical writing skills.
Must be able to work effectively as part of an integration-focused development team.
Familiarity with DoD or other common robotics and datalink architecture standards (especially OMS/UCI and AFSIM, but also FACE, DDS, ROS, STANAG 4586, J-Series, UMAA etc).
Familiarity with Python and Conan package manager
Familiarity with AI robotic navigation and decision algorithms – path planning (A, RRT), schedule optimization (Simulated Annealing, Genetic Algorithms, Tabu Search), distributed coordination algorithms
Experience working on DOD projects

Responsibilities

Develop advanced software for multi-vehicle autonomy for complex, contested environments.
Provide relevant technical expertise as part of a team to design, implement, and test autonomy software systems for embedded uncrewed multi-vehicle autonomy.
Develop and run simulations for autonomous software.
Support presentation of technical results to internal and external customers.
Support other company initiatives and programs.
