Senior Software Engineer I, Speciality Care Retention

About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Specialty Care Retention, this senior engineer will design, build, and ship full stack features that empower members to begin their mental health journey. You’ll collaborate with product, design, clinical, and other engineers to turn experiments into safe, measurable, production features. Please note that this is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, with an expectation to be in the office 2–3 days per week at our 44 Montgomery Street location. Candidates must be based in the San Francisco metro area or able to relocate independently within 90 days of their start date. Occasional travel will be required for team on-sites.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on full stack development
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and AWS
  • Experience with React, Redux, and modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with Docker and managing CI/CD pipelines
  • Proven ability to independently lead delivery of complex technical projects
  • Experience working in cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Track record of mentoring junior engineers and leading by example

Responsibilities

  • Write, review, and optimize production-ready code daily, while driving key technical decisions and advocating for high engineering standards
  • Architect and deliver scalable, high-performance code that ensures long-term maintainability and system reliability
  • Own technical delivery for complex projects or subsystems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship high-impact features that improve our member and provider experience
  • Debug and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support system reliability and respond to production issues
  • Collaborate flexibly across time zones, as needed, to support distributed teams and stakeholder
  • Mentor and support the growth of junior engineers
