This role focuses on designing, developing, and validating software for embedded controls systems in the electrification domain for High Voltage Battery Sensor Communication / Wired-Wireless Communication and Sensing. The engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of physics and controls requirements to continuously improve software for mechatronic controls and diagnostics strategies, as well as controller communication. Key activities include testing and demonstrating software functionality and readiness, supplying common solutions across all GM owned software, documenting requirements, and utilizing automated test tools in various environments to verify functionality at the Controller, System, and Vehicle level. The role also involves utilizing hardware in the loop and vehicle systems for continuous validation and refinement of software features using data. Collaboration and leadership within an Agile Scrum team are essential, as is coordinating with external departments such as Systems & Safety, Electrical Architecture, Software Defined Vehicle, Calibration, and Vehicle Performance. The engineer will also provide input in software planning, share knowledge, and mentor junior engineers.
