Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer - GUI-related occupation.
  • Programming skills in C/C++
  • Modular GUI development in Qt (or equivalent tools)
  • Front end technologies and front-end frameworks
  • Entire software stack
  • Working in a Linux environment
  • Software development tools (Git, Jenkins, various IDE's)
  • Medical device development experience
  • Prototyping

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software for the Ottava Robotic System, with a focus on robust, safety-critical GUI and frontend components.
  • Implement threadsafe, failsafe, high-quality C++ and QML code for multicore, multithreaded Qt applications.
  • Develop unit tests to support verification and UI validation.
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Participate in regular code reviews while mentoring and training team members on design techniques and coding standards.
  • Lead the design of major software components, systems, and features.
  • Synthesize design and development by envisioning the system architecture and implementing cutting-edge GUI/UI concepts from storyboards and wireframe designs.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, researchers, clinicians, product managers, and a large, passionate group of peers to shape simple and effective user experiences, influencing the future of design.
  • Work closely with Clinical Engineering, Human Factors, UX Design, System Software, and Visualization teams to implement versatile solutions to complex front-end development challenges while keeping the end user in mind.
