Senior Software Engineer, Full-Stack
About The Position
Encord is seeking an outstanding experienced engineer to enhance the performance and reliability of their platform. This role is crucial during a period of accelerated development for the company, product, and team. The engineer will be part of a small, highly collaborative group, driving vital projects with a high degree of autonomy. Responsibilities include building and extending foundational systems, using simple tools to create performant, reliable, and maintainable solutions to complex technical and product challenges. The role offers end-to-end ownership, from product and architectural decisions to deployment and monitoring, working across the full stack. Collaboration and autonomy are key, as is tackling complex domains and scale with simple solutions.
Requirements
- Experienced engineer who has seen a lot and built a lot.
- Personally developed and maintained multiple systems from scratch.
- Understand trade-offs in building reliable, performant software at speed.
- Desire for work to have a tangible outcome for people.
- Enjoy all aspects of building a complete product, comfortable moving across the stack.

Nice To Haves
- Prior experience with Python and Typescript is appreciated but not required.
- Experience with PyTorch, CUDA, Ray is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Build and extend foundational systems.
- Craft performant, reliable, and maintainable solutions to challenging problems.
- Take end-to-end ownership of projects, including product, design, architectural decisions, deployment, monitoring, and measuring user impact.
- Work across the stack, from deployment to styling.
- Take initiative, be proactive in problem-solving, and continuously seek improvements.
- Collaborate with team members to solve challenging problems.
- Tackle complex domains and immense scale with simple solutions.
- Explore and build services for enterprise AI use cases across various industry verticals.
- Work on solving unsolved problems in computer vision and deep learning.
