About The Position

Ruxlo is building a profile page for every one of America's 150M+ properties, creating a durable record attached to the parcel itself. This profile will include verified contractor work history, deal documents, and real neighborhood connections, built on a public-record foundation with crowdsourced layers. The company is developing an AI-native app with a map-based web and mobile interface, AI-assisted search, and a freemium model, serving homeowners, contractors, investors, builders, and agents. This is an early-stage opportunity backed by an experienced SaaS founder, focused on defining a category at the intersection of AI, data, and real estate. The role of Senior Software Engineer, Frontend is to own the client layer of the Ruxlo product, which includes the map, property profile, search box, and other user-facing features. This is a multi-platform role requiring experience with both native mobile (Flutter/Dart on iOS and Android) and modern web frontends (Next.js/React). The engineer will be responsible for setting standards for component architecture, shared design systems, rendering, performance, and release processes. The focus will be on complex challenges such as rendering performance, state management, and handling slow or non-deterministic responses, with SEO being a critical product requirement. The role emphasizes hands-on, pragmatic development, focusing on user experience, performance, and accessibility, utilizing AI-assisted tooling.

Requirements

Flutter/Dart in production on both iOS and Android, with apps shipped and operated after launch.
Strong Next.js/React with TypeScript, including rendering strategy (server-side rendering, static and incremental static regeneration, client hydration).
Cross-platform judgment to reason about shared components and abstractions.
Experience with state management, data fetching, caching, offline and flaky-network handling, optimistic updates, and conflict resolution.
Frontend performance optimization, including render and rebuild profiling, list and map virtualization, bundle size, image strategy, and Core Web Vitals.
Experience building reusable component libraries from design tokens and meeting WCAG-level accessibility expectations.
Disciplined API consumption (REST and/or GraphQL) with awareness of contracts, versioning, pagination, and error semantics.
5+ years building and operating production frontends, with shipping experience on both mobile and web.
Expert-level command of TypeScript/JavaScript and Dart, or expert in one with proven production delivery in the other.
Continuous integration and delivery for web and mobile (automated builds, code signing, store submission, staged rollout, feature flags).
Automated testing habits (unit, widget/component, end-to-end).
Client-side observability (crash reporting, real-user monitoring, performance budgets).
Ability to own an area end to end with limited guidance and establish patterns from scratch.
Use of AI tools to multiply output and verify results.

Nice To Haves

Founding-team or early-stage experience owning frontend on a lean team.
Map and geospatial rendering experience (Mapbox, MapLibre, or Google Maps, vector tiles, clustering, and marker performance at parcel scale).
Programmatic SEO at scale (sitemaps, structured data (schema.org), and answer-engine optimization for AI search).
Experience with streaming and agentic AI interfaces (token streaming, tool-call and human-in-the-loop states, designing for non-deterministic responses).
Experience with freemium, paywall, subscription, and in-app purchase flows (StoreKit, Google Play Billing, RevenueCat, or similar).
Offline-first architecture, local persistence, and sync conflict handling.
Design-system ownership and close partnership with a product designer in Figma.
Native platform work in Swift or Kotlin for platform channels and plugins.
Analytics, funnel instrumentation, and A/B experimentation.
Accessibility to WCAG standards.
Proptech, real estate, fintech, or geospatial experience.

Responsibilities

Own the client layer across platforms.
Set the component architecture, state model, navigation, and shared design language across the Flutter/Dart apps and the Next.js/React web app.
Ship the map, owning tile and marker rendering, clustering, viewport-driven queries, and interaction performance.
Build for search and AI answer engines, owning web rendering strategy (server rendering, incremental static regeneration, structured data, sitemaps) and Core Web Vitals.
Make AI features feel good, focusing on streaming responses, loading and uncertainty states, optimistic updates, and a clear credit meter and paywall.
Own the design system, partnering with Design to turn Figma into tokens and reusable components.
Own the release trains, including App Store and Play review, code signing, staged rollouts, feature flags, forced-upgrade paths, and web continuous delivery.
Hold the bar on real devices, measuring performance and accessibility on mid-range Android and flaky networks.
Set the standard for build-vs-buy and cross-platform sharing decisions.
