Wellfit TechnologiesIrving, TX

About The Position

Wellfit is the dental industry’s fintech solution! A healthcare fintech company that enhances experiences between patients, providers, employers, and payors. Wellfit provides access to treatment and care for all by removing financial barriers. About the Role: As a Software Engineer, FMP at Wellfit, you will play a key role in building, integrating, and scaling the technology that powers our financial marketplace platform. This role is focused on developing secure, reliable, and high-performing software solutions that connect Wellfit’s platform with lenders, providers, partners, and internal business systems. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and business stakeholders to design and deliver integrations, APIs, workflows, and application features that support our lending marketplace and broader healthcare fintech ecosystem. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex integration challenges, working with financial products, and building systems that directly impact access to care. We are looking for an AI-centric engineer who actively uses AI tools as part of their daily development workflow. The ideal candidate should be comfortable using AI to accelerate coding, debugging, documentation, testing, research, prototyping, and overall engineering productivity — not someone who has only experimented with AI occasionally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework, .NET Core, and SQL.
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs, web services, and third-party integrations.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL queries, stored procedures, and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience working with source control tools, preferably Git.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Understanding of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and scalable application architecture.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with product managers, business analysts, QA, and DevOps teams.
  • Ability to analyze API documentation, technical specifications, and partner requirements independently.
  • Demonstrated daily use of AI tools in the software development lifecycle, including coding, debugging, documentation, testing, technical research, or workflow acceleration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across application, integration, database, and environment layers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fintech, lending, payments, healthcare technology, or marketplace platforms.
  • Experience integrating with lenders, payment processors, financial institutions, or third-party financial platforms.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and distributed application patterns.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, TDD, BDD, or DevOps practices.
  • Exposure to Azure services, cloud APIs, serverless functions, or containerized applications.
  • Experience supporting high-volume, transaction-based systems.
  • Exposure to Domain Driven Design or reusable framework development.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar tools to improve engineering productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions supporting Wellfit’s financial marketplace platform.
  • Build and integrate APIs with lenders, technology partners, and third-party platforms.
  • Evaluate API documentation and partner systems to determine integration approach, data requirements, and technical feasibility.
  • Develop backend services, full-stack web applications, and internal tools using ASP.NET, .NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, SQL, and related technologies.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Business Analysts to translate marketplace, lending, and partner requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Support the development of unified API patterns, reusable services, and integration frameworks across the platform.
  • Build and maintain sandbox, testing, and lower-environment workflows in partnership with DevOps and QA.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, data flow problems, and production defects across internal and external systems.
  • Write clean, maintainable, testable code while following software engineering best practices.
  • Use AI tools daily to improve engineering speed, code quality, troubleshooting, documentation, testing, and technical research.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, sprint planning, and delivery estimation.
  • Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, release readiness, and overall platform reliability.
  • Research, prototype, and recommend new technologies or approaches that improve scalability, performance, and speed to market.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, Operations, and external partners to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business goals.
