About The Position

Glacier is a Series A startup based in San Francisco focused on solving the problem of recyclable waste. They build custom sorting robots and AI-powered business analytics to help recyclers improve their operations and increase circularity. Their technology has been recognized by TIME and featured in various publications. This role involves building and scaling Glacier's image capture and analysis platform, requiring the engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software across edge devices, servers (on-premise and cloud), and customer-facing web applications.

Requirements

5+ years of work experience with relevant programming languages (e.g., Python for backend/edge, JavaScript/TypeScript for frontend).
3+ years developing or consuming APIs (e.g., RESTful APIs).
Solid experience with backend web frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Flask).
Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.
English Proficiency (C1 or higher) as you will be working with a US based team.

Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Database systems (SQL or NoSQL, e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch).
Experience working with US companies or clients is a plus

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain software for edge devices, server infrastructure, and web applications.
Build and improve the APIs connecting system components (edge, server, web).
Design and improve user interfaces for the web application.
Implement, manage, and optimize data processing and machine learning inference pipelines on servers.
Troubleshoot problems across the hardware/software stack, from edge devices through the server to the web frontend.
Collaborate with the team to design new features and solve technical challenges.
