Senior Software Engineer - Core Platform

About The Position

Antioch is the agentic simulation platform for robotics and autonomy. We allow teams to design, train, and test their physical systems in high-fidelity cloud simulation, accelerated by 3D-native agents. With Antioch, teams create precision-calibrated digital twins, generate testing environments, and run massively parallel simulation scenarios. By moving development out of the field and into software, Antioch drastically reduces dependence on expensive, slow, and incomplete real-world testing. We work with leading robotics, autonomy, and perception teams to make the deployment of physical autonomous systems safer, faster, and more cost-effective. We're hiring Platform Engineers to build the cloud infrastructure, customer-facing application, internal development tools, and agentic harness that power Antioch. This is an early, high-ownership builder role: you'll design and ship the systems that customers and internal teams depend on every day, from the orchestration layer running massively parallel sims to the web app where engineers author scenarios and review results. You'll work across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and developer tooling. If you like the 0 → 1 grind and want your work to directly determine whether autonomous systems succeed in the real world, you'll fit right in.

Requirements

  • Strong full-stack engineering background, with production experience designing and operating cloud systems (GCP/AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, container orchestration, data pipelines).
  • Deep fluency in Python.
  • Comfort across the stack: backend services and APIs, plus modern web frontends.
  • Experience designing and shipping developer-facing products: SDKs, APIs, CLIs, or internal tools that other engineers depend on.
  • Strong instincts for performance, reliability, and observability: profiling, debugging distributed systems, and designing for failure.
  • Fluent use of coding agents (Claude, Codex, Cursor, and the like) as a force multiplier on top of strong engineering fundamentals, not as a substitute for them.
  • Interest in building agentic workflows: shipping things that LLMs and agents call into, with the evals and guardrails to make them reliable.
  • A track record of shipping production-ready systems, not just prototypes.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Rust/C++ is a plus.
  • Experience operating GPU-heavy workloads (rendering, simulation, ML training)
  • Experience building MCP servers, agent tool interfaces, or LLM eval harnesses
  • Experience with 3D, graphics, or rendering pipelines

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate the cloud infrastructure that runs Antioch’s cloud-based simulations: orchestration, scheduling, GPU pools, storage, and observability.
  • Build the customer-facing web app where teams author scenarios, manage runs, visualize and replay simulations, and review results.
  • Build internal tooling that lets simulation engineers, 3D artists, and customers move quickly: SDKs, CLIs, dashboards, and deployment pipelines.
  • Build the agentic harness that lets coding agents drive simulation work end to end: APIs, MCP servers, tool wrappers, evals, and the feedback loops agents need to iterate reliably.
  • Own performance, reliability, and cost: profile bottlenecks, reduce compute spend, and harden the system as customer load grows.
  • Partner directly with customers to integrate Antioch into their development workflows: APIs, CI hooks, data exchange, and authentication.
  • Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams about tradeoffs, constraints, and roadmap.
  • You'll work alongside Antioch's founders, simulation engineers building digital twins and sim tooling, and 3D technical artists producing platform assets.

Benefits

  • High ownership. You'll own systems end-to-end rather than narrow tasks, with fast iteration and direct customer feedback.
  • Team caliber. Work with a founding team who have previously built and sold companies, and worked at leading companies like Google Deepmind, Tesla Autopilot, Meta Reality Labs, and more.
  • Build the company, not just the product. Early team members help define engineering culture, product direction, and how we win.
