About The Position

Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Core Experiences Team. This team is responsible for building and maintaining the foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across all platforms. The role is critical for individuals who thrive at the intersection of product and infrastructure, possess strategic thinking abilities, and are passionate about creating clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance the user experience. Requirements

Systems thinking: Ability to understand that optimizing a system requires end-to-end design and a belief in the value of simplicity.
Speed: Ability to generate ideas and options quickly and to discern which items can be shipped immediately versus those requiring more time.
Focus: Ability to engage effectively and know when to be heads-down in a fast-paced, remote startup environment.
Collaboration: Skill in inspiring, working with, and negotiating with designers, marketers, and Product Managers.
Kotlin Multiplatform experience (Java experience is acceptable, but the role emphasizes Kotlin Multiplatform).

Prior experience with GCP.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Speechify’s Product Teams to scope projects and identify opportunities to reduce scope for faster customer feedback.
Navigate integration and user experience tradeoffs relevant to different product teams.
Deliver solutions through the company's cross-platform SDK.
Optimize existing functionality, such as improving loading times and parsing intelligence, by designing more efficient abstractions and enhancing algorithms.
Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
