About The Position
Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Core Experiences Team. This team is responsible for building and maintaining the foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across all platforms. The role is critical for individuals who thrive at the intersection of product and infrastructure, possess strategic thinking skills, and are passionate about creating clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly improve the user experience. Requirements
- Systems thinking: Ability to design end-to-end systems and value simplicity.
- Speed: Ability to generate ideas and options quickly and determine what can be shipped immediately versus what requires more time.
- Focus: Ability to engage effectively or work heads-down in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Collaboration: Skill in inspiring, playing, and negotiating with designers, marketers, and PMs.
- Kotlin Multiplatform experience (Java experience is acceptable, but the role emphasizes Kotlin Multiplatform).

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Speechify’s Product Teams to scope projects and identify opportunities to reduce scope for faster customer feedback.
- Navigate integration and user experience tradeoffs relevant to different product teams.
- Deliver solutions through the company's cross-platform SDK.
- Optimize existing functionality, such as improving loading times and parsing intelligence, by designing more efficient abstractions and enhancing algorithms.
- Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
