Senior Software Engineer, Core Experiences - Cary, NC, USA
About The Position
Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Core Experiences Team. This team is responsible for building and maintaining the foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across all platforms. The role is critical for individuals who thrive at the intersection of product and infrastructure, possess strategic thinking skills, and are passionate about designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance the user experience. The engineer will collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, find ways to reduce scope for faster customer feedback, navigate integration/UX tradeoffs, and deliver solutions via the cross-platform SDK. Responsibilities include optimizing existing functionality for faster loading and more intelligent parsing through efficient abstractions and improved algorithms, and shipping cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.

- Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience is OK but role is Kotlin Multiplatform)
- Prior experience with GCP is a plus
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Speechify’s Product Teams to scope projects, find ways to reduce scope to get faster feedback from customers, navigate the integration/UX tradeoffs relevant to different product teams, and deliver solutions via our cross-platform SDK
