About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Command & Control to support the design, development, integration, and sustainment of software solutions in a secure mission environment. This role is best suited for a strong software engineer who can lead delivery within a defined technical scope, resolve cross-team software issues, and support reliable execution across integrated development efforts. The ideal candidate brings solid software engineering fundamentals, practical technical judgment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across software, systems, integration, and test teams in a high-consequence environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience in technical or mission-driven environments.
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Experience in command-and-control (C2) software environments.
  • Experience with C++ development.
  • Experience with Python development or scripting.
  • Experience supporting software development, integration, or sustainment in a structured engineering environment.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
  • Ability to work independently within assigned scope and contribute to reliable delivery across software efforts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SNMP and networked systems environments.
  • Experience working with Cisco switches or comparable network infrastructure.
  • Active CI Polygraph.
  • Security+ certification or comparable security certification.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Robot Framework or Behave.
  • Experience supporting GitLab CI/CD pipelines or similar continuous integration and deployment workflows.
  • Experience with operational or mission management platforms such as XMS, MCS, ECS, COPS, or similar environments.
  • Experience working across software integration, automated testing, and release workflows in classified environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain complex software applications, services, and components.
  • Lead delivery of larger features or technical workstreams through implementation, testing, integration, and sustainment.
  • Translate software requirements into effective, maintainable technical solutions within assigned scope.
  • Set implementation approach within assigned work with attention to performance, reliability, maintainability, and testability.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and cross-team technical issues that affect execution or integration.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, technical planning, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, integration teams, testers, and program stakeholders to support aligned execution and successful delivery.
  • Identify technical risks, communicate tradeoffs, and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
  • Provide peer guidance and help reinforce strong engineering practices across the team.
  • Support software quality through disciplined development, testing, documentation, and structured delivery practices.
