Requirements

  • BS (or higher, e.g., MS, or PhD) in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience.
  • 2+ years of industry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • BS and 5+ years of relevant work experience, MS and 4+ years of relevant work experience, or PhD and 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in designing and building infrastructure and web services at large scale.
  • Expert knowledge of computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Proven coding skills in Python or JavaScript/AJAX, database design and SQL, and/or knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming.
  • Experience building web applications and services with IDEs, ant, junit, etc.
  • Experience with relational databases (transactional and non-transactional), database architecture, and distributed transaction management.
  • Proven track record of mentoring junior engineers and leading small to mid-sized project teams.
  • Deep expertise in system design, data modeling, concurrency patterns, and performance tuning at scale.
  • Proven track record of transforming ambiguous business opportunities into autonomous agentic systems capable of long-horizon reasoning and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, write code, and deliver with speediness and quality.
  • Develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7.
  • Produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
  • Provide technical leadership, driving and performing best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross functional, and company-wide critical programs. Identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity.
  • Lead the technical execution of complex features and mid-sized initiatives, breaking down ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable engineering milestones.
  • Design component-level architectures and data models that are highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and easily maintainable by the broader team.
  • Raise the bar for code quality and engineering excellence through rigorous code reviews, comprehensive technical design documents, and proactive technical debt reduction.
  • Utilize AI tools throughout the SDLC to boost design, coding, and review productivity, and contribute to shared skills and best practices for the overall team.
  • Work with product managers and dependent engineering teams to negotiate technical trade-offs, define service boundaries, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Learn to balance tactical day-to-day execution with long-term technical debt management and strategic component roadmapping.
