We look to foster collaboration and community by having our local employees onsite three times per week. The Advance team is a group of full stack engineers focused on making the experience of using Alloy more and more “advanced” over time. They do this by working on features that leverage our differentiated data set to provide our customers with optimizations of their risk policies, more insights into their data, and proactive alerting of previously unknown risks. The team works all across the Alloy platform, striving to improve the usability of our rules engine and end-to-end case management system. Advance is a highly product-oriented team working on the most promising areas of the Alloy platform, which involves collaborative work across various functions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years (or for the Senior 2 role, 8+ years) of hands-on experience in developing production-ready software, demonstrating a proven track record of delivering robust and scalable solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in steering both front-end and backend technical projects, prioritizing tasks, defining requirements, and facilitating productive discussions within the team to drive informed technical decisions.
  • A collaborative mindset and experience in effectively leading engineering teams in collective pursuits, fostering an environment of cooperation and shared success.
  • Strong ability to adapt swiftly to the evolving needs of our growing organization and dynamic product landscape, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Proficiency in client-side technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6/React), HTML/CSS, as well as server-side proficiency in Python (Django), enabling seamless development across the entire stack.
  • Practical experience in managing relational databases, with a strong command over PostgreSQL and its intricacies, ensuring efficient data management and retrieval.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to translate our product and technical vision into a concrete roadmap, guiding the team towards success.
  • Architect, develop, test, and deploy significant customer-facing features and projects using cutting-edge tools and technologies.
  • Work on both the front-end and backend, with the ability and willingness to lean in on either side of the stack at different times as needed, depending on the project. Our tech stack includes TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6/React), Node.js, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and AWS.
  • Craft high-quality, thoroughly-tested code that meets the unique requirements of our clients, ensuring robustness,reliability, and continuous improvement of our platform.
  • Embrace an iterative approach, swiftly iterating on features and solutions based on valuable feedback from both our product team and clients, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with user needs.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance, and foster a culture of learning and growth.
