About The Position

UTA seeks an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to help build and scale the web experiences behind one of the world's leading entertainment companies. You will work across our product applications and public-facing sites, set technical direction for how we build on the front end, and raise the quality bar for the engineers around you. You will also own our shared component library, which is in production today and used across multiple applications, and lead its adoption org-wide.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of front-end engineering experience, with deep production React experience and a strong understanding of front-end development best practices.
  • Strong TypeScript, including typing flexible, composable component APIs.
  • Experience building and maintaining a component library or shared UI code used by teams beyond your own.
  • Deep CSS expertise, including cascade layers, custom properties, container queries, and managing specificity in shared code.
  • Accessibility experience in complex interactive components, not only static pages.
  • Responsive web experience across breakpoints and devices.
  • Experience influencing engineering practice across teams, not only within your own.
  • Strong experience with RESTful APIs and integrating front-end applications with APIs, ensuring smooth communication between the front-end and back-end.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and modern CI/CD workflows.
  • Excellent written communication. Documentation and technical proposals are a core output of this role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality code and efficient troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working closely with designers, developers, and other stakeholders to build innovative and effective web applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing your workload and collaborating effectively with other team members to meet project goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Next.js, GraphQL, headless CMS platforms, cloud and edge hosting, or React Native is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of complex, user-facing features and applications using React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS, with a focus on responsive, accessible, and high-performing web and mobile experiences.
  • Define and implement scalable front-end architectures, development patterns, and engineering standards across applications and projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, promoting best practices in front-end development, code quality, and engineering processes.
  • Contribute to UTA's public-facing web properties, including marketing and talent-facing sites.
  • Own and evolve UTA's shared React component library, used across multiple applications.
  • Maintain and extend the design token system, partnering with design on Figma-to-code parity.
  • Own versioning, changelogs, and a predictable upgrade path for the teams consuming shared code.
  • Drive adoption across teams through migration paths, documentation, a contribution model, and a clear deprecation policy.
  • Help shape how AI coding tools consume our components, so generated code follows our patterns by default.
  • Lead efforts to optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring the best possible user experience.
  • Work with back-end developers to integrate APIs and web services, utilizing RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and other relevant technologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in web development, with a focus on mobile experience, accessibility, and cloud technologies.
  • Perform continuous testing, utilizing tools such as Storybook and Playwright, to ensure high-quality code and efficient testing practices.
  • Maintain visual regression and automated accessibility testing in CI.
  • Treat accessibility as a deliverable, meeting WCAG 2.1 AA including ARIA patterns, keyboard navigation, and focus management.
