About The Position

As a technologist at Prime Video, you will have full ownership of product, user experience, design, and technology to deliver cutting-edge experiences. This role involves fast-paced, challenging, and diverse projects, with opportunities for experimentation, risk-taking, and collaboration. We are seeking a motivated, passionate, and resourceful Senior Software Development Engineer to contribute diverse perspectives and skills to enhance Prime Video. You will be a technical leader responsible for designing and building the ML infrastructure that supports our vision. This involves tackling complex and ambiguous problems, designing and delivering scalable and resilient ML and Data platform solutions from scratch. Your responsibilities will include writing high-quality code, mentoring engineers, influencing technical strategy, and promoting engineering best practices. Your work will directly improve Prime Video's operational efficiency and establish the technical foundation for future growth.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Nice To Haves
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with Machine Learning and Large Language Model fundamentals, including architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization of model execution
- Experience operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets, or experience with training and deploying machine learning systems to solve large-scale optimizations
Responsibilities
- Have deep subject matter expertise in big data pipeline architecture, data foundations for personalization & recommendation systems, and user experience for data & ML infrastructure offerings.
- Collaborate with scientists, product managers, and engineers to translate business and functional requirements into system deliverables.
- Build new platform services from the ground up.
- Drive the development of innovative approaches to personalization.
- Provide opportunities for scientists and engineers to invent and implement scalable ML solutions supporting new customer experiences.
- Be a technical leader helping to design and build the ML infrastructure.
- Tackle complex and ambiguous problems, designing and delivering scalable and resilient ML and Data platform solutions from the ground up.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code.
- Mentor other engineers.
- Influence our technical strategy.
- Drive engineering best practices across the team.
