About The Position

U.S. News & World Report is seeking an enthusiastic Full Stack Senior Software Developer with an interest in building dynamic, data-driven products. Developers are typically involved in the entire application lifecycle, from creation to implementation, upgrade, optimization, and testing, working directly with project owners. The team utilizes a variety of technologies and environments, working closely with designers, analysts, stakeholders, and testers to build products efficiently and effectively. Requirements

  • Minimum three years of related or similar full stack experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development, skills, agents, automations.
  • Modern JavaScript frameworks, such as React.
  • Web styling with CSS preprocessors or CSS-in-JS.
  • Modern JavaScript patterns and ES6.
  • Server-side technologies, such as Python, Java, or NodeJS.
  • Databases, such as PostgreSQL.
  • Unix-based operating systems, such as Linux or Mac OS X, along with the shells and command-line tools available in those environments.
  • Version control, such as Git.

  • CICD pipelines such as Jenkins.
  • Cloud environments such as AWS.
  • Data ingestion/transformation.
  • Developed product-facing AI features.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key contributor for a team of developers working with one of our verticals.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers.
  • Mentor developers.
  • Employ an AI-first approach to day-to-day investigation & development.
  • Develop and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Make code architecture decisions.
  • Review code for quality.
  • Serve as a technical role model.
  • Promote the overall quality of our team and technology, beyond individual contributions.
