Senior Software Developer
About The Position
We are seeking a Full-Stack Software Developer to support the ongoing development, enhancement, and maintenance of a mission-critical system operating across secure Canadian Forces networks. This role focuses on .NET and Angular-based application development, performance optimization, and secure deployment practices within a controlled environment. The successful candidate will contribute to both feature development and system stability, working within an Agile DevOps framework. This is a proactive recruitment initiative, with potential start dates in the coming weeks or months, contingent on contract award.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience as a Software Developer
- College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field
- Strong hands-on experience with: C# / .NET Framework
- Strong hands-on experience with: Angular (front-end development)
- Strong hands-on experience with: MongoDB
- Strong hands-on experience with: Azure DevOps (Agile, CI/CD pipelines)
- Experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs
- Experience working in secure or enterprise environments
- Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex systems
Nice To Haves
- Experience installing, maintaining, and upgrading server operating systems
- Familiarity with distributed systems and messaging technologies (e.g., RabbitMQ)
- Experience with real-time communication frameworks (e.g., SignalR)
- Exposure to search platforms (e.g., Solr)
- Experience working within government or defence environments
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance system features using established architecture and design patterns
- Review software requirements, identify gaps, and recommend optimal technical solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and application issues
- Analyze, validate, and test code against defined requirements
- Fix defects and implement performance improvements across the platform
- Design and implement deployment strategies for secure (CF) network environments
- Provide technical support and respond to user inquiries and issues
- Diagnose software and hardware problems and advise technical leadership
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Azure DevOps environments, including CI/CD pipelines
- Contribute to system architecture improvements and scalability planning
