About The Position

The Fraud & Financial Crimes team is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, build, and support scalable automated test frameworks, tools, and test suites that ensure software quality within expected timelines. The role contributes to SAS Applications R&D, developing solutions that help customers combat fraud and financial crimes. The Senior Software Developer takes charge of feature development for new customers while supporting existing customers. The role includes designing and developing high-quality, testable, scalable software; contributing to complex projects in a continuous delivery environment; and leading technical discussions with developers, managers, product owners, and user interface and visual designers. The developer also provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, may participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS, and follows applicable security policies and processes. The position is hybrid or remote in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, or Georgia. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Requirements

Eight or more years of experience developing web applications.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered.
Experience with full-stack development, from the presentation layer through the logic and server layers.
Experience working in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery environment.
Experience with Java and RESTful APIs, and with either React or Angular.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with the latest generation SAS Viya platform and the SAS language.
Familiarity with SAS Visual Investigator as a solution basis.
Familiarity with Postgres, Oracle, or SQLServer.
Familiarity with Python or Go.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or Azure.
Familiarity with GitHub Enterprise and Gerrit.

Responsibilities

Take charge of new feature development for new customers while supporting existing customers.
Design and develop high-quality, testable, and scalable software solutions within established timelines and in accordance with R&D best practices and processes.
Assist with scoping, planning, and tracking work on complex software development projects in a continuous delivery environment.
Lead discussions of technical and design issues with developers, managers, product owners, and user interface and visual designers to ensure implementations meet functional requirements and R&D standards.
Provide technical leadership on projects and mentor and coach junior developers.
Build and support scalable automated test frameworks, tools, and test suites to ensure quality during the development cycle.
Follow applicable security policies and processes to support secure software development goals.
Participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS, as encouraged.
