Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and C#.
- Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles, software architecture, and design patterns.
- Experience designing and developing complex, production-quality software systems.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and successfully apply them in production environments.
- A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality software.
Nice To Haves
- Experience developing desktop or engineering software applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET Framework, and related Microsoft technologies.
- Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with cloud-connected applications and service-oriented architecture.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and other developer productivity platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software components for Bentley's Civil Engineering applications.
- Take ownership of features and functionality from design through delivery and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions, helping drive technical decisions and best practices.
- Develop clean, maintainable, and extensible code using modern software engineering principles.
- Create and execute unit and integration tests to ensure product quality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root-cause analysis of software defects.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive, actionable feedback to peers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, performance, developer productivity, and engineering processes.
- Research, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies and development practices where appropriate.
- Collaborate effectively through Microsoft Teams, meetings, technical discussions, and cross-functional project activities.
- Serve as a technical leader within the team, helping guide design and implementation decisions.
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers by sharing knowledge, best practices, and development expertise.
- Champion engineering excellence, software quality, and continuous learning across the organization.
- Support Agile development processes, including sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and technical refinement sessions.
