About The Position

We are seeking a passionate Senior Software Engineer with expertise in SEM and Analytics to improve the efficiency and scope of our customer acquisition efforts. In this role, you will analyze site usage, shape development priorities, and solve complex problems by developing heuristics and algorithms. Our customer acquisition strategies include search engine marketing (SEM), display ads, and re-marketing. We have a large-scale SEM campaign that requires innovative solutions for keyword discovery, efficient bidding, and revenue attribution. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of statistical testing (e.g., A/B testing), proficiency in SQL, experience with regressions, and comfort working with real-world data. You will utilize programming languages and tools such as Ruby on Rails (RoR), R, AWK, and MySQL. As a data-driven company, we emphasize converting data into actionable insights that guide our strategic direction. Effective collaboration and communication are crucial for success in this role.

Requirements

• Experience with Ruby on Rails or other dynamic languages (Python, PHP, etc.).
• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Proficiency with SQL.
• Proven experience with Search Engine Analytics, Big Data, and SEM.
• Ability to talk intelligently about the statistics of testing (e.g., confidence in the result of an A/B test).
• Comfortable working with messy real-world data.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
