About The Position

Global Quality Assurance (GQA) promotes a shift-left approach and provides standardized process and tools to enhance the quality of applications for various WBD brands in News, Sports, and Entertainment verticals. We work closely with our brand partners and act as a center of expertise, best practice, and continuous improvement in the field of quality engineering. Quality is owned by the entire team. GQA Engineers are the frontline owners of the quality processes, including the process of development, testing, and delivery. As a Senior Software Developer in Test in the GQA, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality using efficient and reliable test automation. The ideal candidate has built multiple stable, scalable, and reliable automated suites that have been running successfully in production environments and provide extensive quality benefits. Additionally, we are looking for a QE leader who cares about the user experience and has a passion for quality, learning, and collaboration.

Requirements

6+ years of experience, knowledge of various test activities including automation testing, regression testing, UI/ API testing, etc.
Coding language – JavaScript/Java.
UI Automation - Selenium/Appium
Mobile Automation - Appium or any other tool for Android/iOS.
CI/CD - Jenkins/Github Actions
Source Code Management - GitHub/SVN.
Test case management - Jira/TestRail/Qmetry
Good understanding of digital product development and testing for web, mobile, backend services
Understanding of multiple test types including unit, functional, integration, end to end, security, performance, load, and UI tests.
Understanding the differences between unit, integration, and end-to-end or user journey tests.

Nice To Haves

Ability to scout emerging industry trends such as AI testing and other best in class processes.

Responsibilities

Create and execute test cases for more complex feature enhancements to validate user stories involving oneself or working with other engineers.
Execute and build automated tests by contributing new code that builds on top of what other engineers have written.
Analyze test results and identify areas for increased automated coverage.
Execute and build automated tests using the existing tests built by more experienced test automation engineers.
Make decisions about test coverage for new features and determine when to sign off on a feature or release based on the team’s best-practices, considering the team’s automation capabilities.
Utilize blackbox test methodology to execute test cases and document bugs.
Engage with available tools (e.g. network monitoring tools, debug logs, performance dashboards, etc) for validating acceptance criteria and to provide more information to SDEs for debugging and troubleshooting purposes.
Contribute to automated testing efforts.
Provide documentation of new features and requirements from a testing perspective.
Take ownership of regression testing and release testing coordination.
Influence the team’s processes and testing methodologies through discussions with peers and management.
Persuasively influence peers in prioritization decisions by documenting the impact and severity of bugs and performance issues.
Write clear defects.
Work with developers and product managers to understand requirements.
Interact with stakeholders and adjacent teams.
Drive test design and implementation.
Write high quality and stable automated test cases using existing frameworks.
Manage test cases, test data, test runs, and test results to provide feedback and visibility to qualify & quantify test coverage.
Collaborate effectively with development teams across multiple time zones and locations.
Review automated test run results, triage failures and verify results.
Organize test case inventories that minimize the number of test cases while maximizing the amount of test coverage.
