PDF Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and distributed systems that power our industry-leading semiconductor manufacturing analytics and connectivity platforms. This role will work closely with cross-functional engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to deliver robust, high-performance solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across advanced semiconductor manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend architecture, cloud-native services, APIs, and enterprise-scale software development. Experience in the semiconductor industry is highly preferred.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum 8 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on backend systems and services.
Strong programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C#, Python, C++
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and microservices architectures.
Strong understanding of database technologies including SQL and NoSQL platforms.
Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong knowledge of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and system architecture.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control systems, and automated testing frameworks.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience within the semiconductor manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, or semiconductor software industry.
Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing workflows, yield management, process control, metrology, inspection, or equipment connectivity solutions.
Experience with large-scale data processing, analytics platforms, or industrial IoT environments.
Knowledge of manufacturing systems integration including MES, SPC, APC, or factory automation systems.
Experience working in customer-facing technical environments and supporting enterprise software deployments.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices architectures.
Build high-performance systems capable of processing large volumes of manufacturing, equipment, and analytics data.
Design execution pipelines, data structures and algorithms with a focus on performance, parallelism, thread safety and distributed execution.
Collaborate with product management, solutions engineering, and software teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Develop secure, reliable, and maintainable software following industry best practices.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and system reliability.
Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and code reviews.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues while driving root-cause analysis and long-term solutions.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and development processes.
Support DevOps initiatives including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and cloud deployment strategies.
