About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a E-7 Senior Software Architect to support our dynamic team in Oklahoma City, OK. The E-7 Software IPT is responsible for full software lifecycle of E-7 Mission Capabilities for current and future customers of the platform. This engages all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including proposals/estimating, modeling/requirements, design, implementation, integration, test, delivery and sustainment, and the leader in this role will support each of these lifecycle areas throughout execution. The E-7 portfolio is growing with current customer base contracts and future customer pursuit activities on-going.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance Post-Start is required
  • 10+ years’ experience with coding
  • 10+ years’ experience with Software Development Processes
  • 5+ years’ experience with mission systems architecture
  • Experience providing technical leadership for an engineering team

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 14+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 18+ years of directly related work experience OR 22+ years of related, relevant experience
  • Experience with airborne and ground support software segments
  • Prior work on DoD/USAF or other defense intersegment programs.
  • Experience with communications, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile Mission Suite (AMS) Government Reference Architecture (GRA), or Open Missions Systems (OMS)
  • Experience with technical subcontract management

Responsibilities

  • Architects, designs, and validates intersegment (air-to-ground) software interfaces and interactions
  • Defines software functions, components, interfaces, and functional allocations that span airborne and ground segments
  • Translates system-level intersegment requirements into software requirements and ensures traceability to design, code, and test artifacts
  • Performs system-level analyses to identify risks and drive mitigation across the software lifecycle
  • Leads and performs code reviews; oversee verification, integration, and test activities for intersegment capabilities
  • Coordinates with systems, communications, and mission teams (MSS/TDS/PSS) to ensure interoperability and performance
  • Manages supplier interactions related to intersegment software elements and assist program leadership on technical decisions
  • Develops user-facing documentation and training related to intersegment features and operations
