As a Senior Architect, you will act as a bridge between the Director’s vision and the engineering teams’ execution, providing the technical blueprints and leadership necessary to modernize our healthcare technology suite.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in a dedicated architectural role.
  • Proven track record of designing and scaling large-scale, distributed SaaS applications.
  • Expert in horizontal scaling, database sharding, and event-driven architectures.
  • Deep experience with cloud-native principles (Containers, Kubernetes, Serverless, and Service Mesh) and multi-cloud strategies.
  • Expert knowledge of Agile, Lean, and SAFe.
  • Understand how to integrate architectural runway into a fast-moving development sprint.
  • Solid experience with automation frameworks, observability (APM, logging), and security-by-design (DevSecOps).
  • Exceptional ability to decompose complex problems and explain them clearly to both developers and executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Define the technical solutions, assumptions, and constraints for major initiatives.
  • Create the technical roadmaps that align with our "multi-generation" software plans.
  • Lead the migration and optimization of ModMed products into a unified cloud engineering organization, utilizing AWS/Azure/GCP best practices.
  • Identify recurring patterns across different product lines to develop common frameworks, reducing duplication and driving engineering efficiency across the enterprise.
  • Develop prototypes (POCs), establish CI/CD standards, and ensure modern SRE/DevOps principles are baked into every design.
  • Evaluate existing systems to identify bottlenecks in performance, security, or cost, and propose actionable architectural shifts to resolve them.
