About The Position
UTHealth Houston's Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences' Trauma and Resilience Center (TRC) is seeking a Senior Social Worker. The TRC is a multidisciplinary center focused on evidence-based, trauma-focused care for patients with PTSD and related conditions like depression, insomnia, and substance abuse. Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work from a school approved by the Council on Social Work.
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the State of Texas.
- 4 years of social work experience.
- At least 1 year of experience providing evidence-based, client-centered counseling (group or independent).
- Knowledge of DSM-5 Criteria.
- Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
Responsibilities
- Independently provides advanced professional social work services using a Biopsychosocial perspective to assess, evaluate, implement, monitor, advocate, and implement services for patients with medical, psychiatric, and social concerns.
- Conducts comprehensive assessments to interpret patients' social, emotional, environmental, and financial needs.
- Plans courses of treatment or refers cases to appropriate professionals, institutions, or agencies.
- Obtains data from patients and/or relatives to assist in the development of teaching endeavors, programs, and social services.
- Assesses patients and/or relatives to understand individual problems and needs, collaborating with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, enhance patient experience, and achieve collaborative goals.
- Develops patient goals, monitors progress, addresses barriers to goal achievement, and evaluates outcomes of individualized care plans.
- Conducts individual and/or group counseling.
- Prepares detailed reports for review.
- Responds to emergency situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
