About The Position

Change Grow Live is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of their Service Users, guided by core values of openness, compassion, and boldness. They are seeking a passionate Senior Social Worker to join their team in Norfolk. This is a crucial role within the senior leadership team, involving the line management of Complex Needs workers, strategic oversight of the Families and Safeguarding offer, and other strategic workstreams across all Norfolk bases. The role focuses on developing the team of Recovery workers and students through reflective practice, coaching, and collaborative approaches. The appointed candidate will lead ethical and evidence-based practice, focusing on the service user experience, and act as a specialist lead for risk, safeguarding, and complex needs. They will empower teams and individuals, provide professional accountability for complex decision-making, and collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe and effective working practices. The role also involves facilitating the development of strategic pathways for service users to navigate the support system and gain knowledge across sectors. The Senior Social Worker will be the strategic lead for specific service areas like MARAC, Adults’ Safeguarding, or Children Safeguarding, representing the organization in external meetings locally, regionally, and nationally. A key part of this role is developing external relationships within integrated care systems and contributing to strategic meetings, including building strong connections with children and adult social care, criminal justice services, hospital safeguarding teams, and health services.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid qualification in Social Work and be registered with the regulatory body.
  • Experience of leadership, motivating and inspiring individuals and teams.
  • Experience of strategic decision making and influence utilising emotional intelligence and courage.
  • Experience of and confidence in complex decision making related to SU issues, using defensible decision-making skills and clear communication.
  • Experience of culture and change management, staff engagement, and service improvement.
  • Experience and knowledge on the working practice of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults.
  • Hold a practice educator qualification.
  • Committed to demonstrating organisational values in daily practice.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • Must not require visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Line management of a team of Complex Needs workers.
  • Provide strategic oversight for the Families and Safeguarding offer.
  • Provide strategic oversight for other strategic workstreams across all Norfolk bases.
  • Continue the development of experienced teams of Recovery workers and students, utilising reflective practice skills, coaching and collaborative approaches.
  • Role model and lead ethical and evidence-based practice, focusing on the experience for people who use services.
  • Act as a specialist lead to the team, providing advice and consultation on risk, safeguarding and complex needs.
  • Facilitate empowerment of teams and individuals to increase knowledge, skills and professional confidence.
  • Provide professional accountability for complex decision making.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi- disciplinary team to establish safe and effective ways to work with people.
  • Facilitate the development of strategic pathways that enable people that use our services to navigate the wider support system and to develop knowledge and skills across the sectors.
  • Be the strategic lead for identified, specific areas of the service i.e. Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC), Adults’ Safeguarding or Children Safeguarding.
  • Attend relevant external meetings representing the service and the organisation locally, regionally and nationally.
  • Develop external relationships within integrated care systems.
  • Contribute to key strategic meetings.
  • Build close working relationships with children and adult social care, criminal justice services, hospital safeguarding teams, and health services.
