About The Position

The Senior Small Business Consulting Coordinator provides advanced small business consulting, training, outreach, and program coordination services for the Florida SBDC at the University of North Florida. Reporting to the Assistant Director or above, this position serves pre-venture, startup, and established small and medium-sized enterprises across the UNF SBDC’s 18-county service region. The role functions as a senior consultant and program administrator, applying professional judgment, technical expertise, and technology-enabled solutions to support small business growth and program compliance.

Requirements

  • Master's and 2+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
  • This position requires a background check.
  • In conjunction with the University's policy, this position may also require a credit check.
  • The holder of this position is designated as a “Responsible Employee" pursuant to their role under Title IX.
  • Therefore, the incumbent must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the University’s Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional-level one-on-one consulting, group training, workshops, and seminars to small businesses.
  • Advise clients on business planning, operations, financial management, growth strategies, and technology adoption, including digital and AI-enabled business tools.
  • Coordinate and administer assigned SBDC programs and initiatives in compliance with FSBDC, UNF, and funding partner requirements.
  • Monitor program deliverables, timelines, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Prepare required activity, performance, and outcome reports as prescribed by grantors and FSBDC leadership.
  • Utilize SBDC client management systems (CRM), reporting platforms, and other business systems to support accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Collaborate with university departments, FSBDC Network partners, and community stakeholders to support program goals.
  • Conduct public presentations and represent the UNF SBDC at business and economic development events.
  • May provide functional or supervisory oversight of assigned staff, OPS consultants, or student assistants.
