About The Position

Autheo is recruiting a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to keep the live network usable. Mainnet has been up since May 14, 2026. Staking and fees settle on-chain. DevHub is open. THEO deposits and withdrawals run on Autheo Mainnet. This role focuses on validator and RPC health, the public endpoints builders hit, the bridge and API surfaces already in production, and the rollout of Marketplace, TheoID, and THEO AI onto the same operations standard. The engineer will design and run the cloud and node platform, own SLOs, manage on-call responsibilities, and implement automation to prevent repeat incidents. Collaboration with Protocol, Engineering, and Support teams is expected. This role is specifically for Autheo Mainnet (Chain ID 2127), an EVM-compatible, IBC-connected chain. Experience operating other blockchain networks like Ethereum, Polygon, or BNB RPCs is related but not the core of the job. This is a part-time equity cofounder opportunity, meaning active ownership and contribution to incident resolution and fixes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in cloud, SRE, systems, or DevOps, including production on-call experience.
  • 5+ years operating production workloads on AWS.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containers in production.
  • Experience with Terraform that has been applied to production environments.
  • Proficiency in observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, or Datadog.
  • Experience running or supporting a blockchain network, including nodes, RPC, sync, and tracing failed transactions.
  • Understanding of distributed systems concepts (retries, backpressure, failover) and experience measuring capacity.
  • Experience with incident response and conducting post-incident reviews.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Cosmos SDK or EVM client operations.
  • Experience with IBC relayers or blockchain bridges.
  • Experience with GitOps (Argo or equivalent) and owning deployment pipelines.
  • AWS certification.
  • A public runbook or postmortem.

Responsibilities

  • Operate validator, sentry, and RPC infrastructure for Autheo Mainnet, including full and archive nodes as needed.
  • Monitor chain health, including block height, peers, sync status, missed blocks, mempool, and endpoint error rates.
  • Manage capacity for public RPC, including load balancing, caching, throttling, and separating public from private peers.
  • Manage production on AWS, including VPC, IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, load balancers, and compute resources.
  • Utilize Terraform for infrastructure as code to ensure rebuildability.
  • Deploy services using Kubernetes (EKS or equivalent) and manage deployments with Helm or GitOps.
  • Define and track SLOs for critical paths like RPC availability, bridge, DevHub API, and staking/fee submission, with error budgets documented.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for S1 and S2 incidents, including incident command, timeline creation, and post-incident reviews.
  • Automate toil to improve reliability, including CI for Terraform plans, image builds, and Helm deployments using Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Implement and manage observability stacks (Metrics, logs, traces) using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, Datadog, or ELK.
  • Create actionable alerts with runbooks for human intervention.
  • Manage KMS and secret handling for node keys, bridge keys, and service credentials, ensuring secure storage and accountability.
  • Implement security guardrails aligned with existing audits (Halborn, CertiK, Adevar Labs).

Benefits

  • Equity in Launch Legends
  • Equity in Autheo
  • Equity in WFO Creator Network
  • Token allocations in the Autheo blockchain (THEO)
  • Salaried compensation expected within 4-5 months
