About The Position

This is a hands-on senior engineering role on a FedRAMP-authorised platform, focusing on building systems, incident response, and maintaining compliance within a regulated cloud environment. The role involves making real architecture decisions and owning incidents, offering the opportunity to shape the infrastructure rather than just maintain it. The position requires US citizenship and US-soil residency, and involves rotational on-call duties within a FedRAMP Moderate-authorised environment.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years in SRE, cloud DevOps, or infrastructure architecture.
  • Strong AWS experience (VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, KMS) and hands-on GovCloud exposure.
  • In-depth Kubernetes/EKS knowledge, including cluster upgrades, Helm, and container security.
  • Proficiency with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and GitOps workflows.
  • US citizenship and US-soil residency.
  • Availability for rotational on-call coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Reliability and design decisions across multi-cluster Amazon EKS and AWS Commercial/GovCloud infrastructure.
  • Advanced incident response, including root cause analysis, resolution, and post-incident reporting.
  • Contributing to FedRAMP compliance through vulnerability management, DISA STIG hardening, and implementing NIST SP 800-53 controls.
  • Developing and maintaining observability architecture using tools like Prometheus and Grafana, and defining meaningful SLIs/SLOs.

Benefits

  • A defined contract term (Mid-September through end of March).
  • Competitive W2 hourly rate ($85–$105/hr).
  • Direct exposure to a live FedRAMP audit environment.
  • Opportunity for genuine experience shaping infrastructure.
